'Winning is a lifestyle for us!' Nikola Jokic gives class response to going 11-0 against LeBron James’ Lakers
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Nuggets have taken a 3-0 lead over the Los Angeles Lakers, as they look to sweep them on the road. Nikola Jokic and Aaron Gordon led the squad in Game 3, combining for 30 rebounds. With this win, the Nuggets are 11-0 against the Lakers since December 2022. The reigning champs are looking to make a statement with this upcoming series win.

Following the game, the Joker seemed quite focused and confident in his team’s abilities to adjust in any scenario, as they have shown in the last three games. The Nuggets have made a comeback after being down double digits multiple times this year. Game 2 went down the wire, as Jamal Murray sank an unbelievable game-winner to put Denver up 2-0. It’s safe to say that the Nuggets have proved their durability, coming in with a winning mindset each night.

I think I said one time, winning is a lifestyle for us and we really enjoy, it's really good when you're winning and especially when you win a lot of games. Like everybody's happy, everybody wants to play, everybody's buying into the system so, winning I think is a lifestyle... Nikola Jokic said after the game

Throughout the season, the Nuggets have maintained their winning status, having finished the regular season with a record of 57-25. Jokic’s basketball IQ has also helped his teammates understand the game easily. For the last two years, the Nuggets have dominated over the Lakers, though it wasn’t as easy most of the time.

Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets have made several comebacks against the Lakers

In their last 11 meetings, the Nuggets have faced double-digit deficits in six of those games. Surprisingly, these include all three games of this series. Being down double digits at halftime is already a challenge, however, the Nuggets seem to have some sort of blueprint for this particular situation. In Game 2, Denver managed to take the game, trailing by 20 points at the half.

Players like Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, and Michael Porter Jr. have had an immense impact on the offensive end. While the starting five itself has great shooters, during the playoffs, the Nuggets look to prioritize certain aspects of the game to their primary players. Gordon is a decent shooter from deep, though hasn’t taken many attempts this series, whereas Murray and MPJ have been the primary shooters so far in the series.

The constructed lineup has helped the Nuggets figure out their way out of any situation. Having the two-time MVP on the roster partnered with players who complement him, the team cannot get any better. As Game 4 is scheduled for the 27th of April, the Nuggets will look to sweep the Lakers for the second time.
