The Philadelphia Eagles are navigating a brutal surprise following the release of their Week 5 injury report as the team prepares for their matchup with the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5.
According to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, Fletcher Cox did not practice Wednesday due to a back injury. It’s the first time Cox has been on the injury report since Week 1 when he was dealing with a rib injury. Cox was able to play, however, in Week 1.
Fletcher Cox a new add to the injury report for the #Eagles. Didn’t practice today because of a back injury. Previously was listed with a rib injury suffered in Week 1 but didn’t miss any game time.

That said, back injuries are serious business. The fact Cox didn’t practice Wednesday shows the injury is severe enough for him to potentially miss the Rams game.
Cox is a major part of the Eagles pass rush. The All-Pro defensive tackle has 10 total tackles and 0.5 sacks this season.
